Menzies Aviation is set to expand its presence in Southeast Asia with the announcement of a new ground handling license at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL), Malaysia’s largest and busiest airport. Through its joint venture with Malaysian supply chain management company MMAG Holdings, Menzies Aviation Malaysia will begin offering passenger, ramp, and cargo services at KUL starting JAN25 under a 12-month license. The company’s first customer at KUL will be private aviation provider MJets, with operations commencing in January, supporting more than 30 flights per week.
KUL, operated by Malaysia Airports (MAHB), is recognized as a mega hub and ranks as the 35th-busiest airport globally by passenger traffic. In 2023, it handled 47.2 million passengers, nearly 1 million tons of cargo, and over 800,000 aircraft movements. This milestone marks Menzies Aviation’s entry into Malaysia, significantly enhancing its footprint across Southeast Asia and underscoring its commitment to expanding operations in key global markets.
Philipp Joeinig, Group CEO, Menzies Aviation, said: “We’re very excited to begin operations at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, a key hub serving Malaysia’s capital. Menzies Aviation Malaysia will quickly become a key part of operations at the airport, serving more than 30 flights a week by early 2025. This underscores Menzies’ determination to increase our presence across Southeast Asia while delivering aviation services that meet the very highest quality and safety standards.”
