Thai Airways has strengthened its foothold in India by appointing Globe Air Cargo (GAC) India, a subsidiary of ECS Group, as its General Sales and Service Agent (GSSA) for operations in Bangalore (BLR) and Cochin (COK). Effective since 01SEP24, this collaboration aims to boost connectivity to key destinations across the Far East, Europe, and Australia. Globe Air Cargo India is now managing daily A350-900 flights from Bangalore, offering 15 tons of cargo capacity per flight. Cochin, which began with three flights per week, has scaled up to daily services, adding around 2.5 tons of cargo per flight. With this expanded role, Globe Air Cargo India now oversees operations at four of Thai Airways’ eight major Indian stations, accounting for over 40% of the airline’s exports from the country. On board of its flights are mainly commodities such as pharmaceuticals, perishables, garments, spices, and automotive parts.
For Globe Air Cargo India, this agreement marks a significant achievement, reflecting its growing influence in the Indian air cargo sector. For Thai Airways, the collaboration underscores its commitment to scaling operations and meeting growing market demands in one of its most dynamic regions.
