Cargo iQ has welcomed SAL, Saudi Arabia’s largest logistics and supply chain provider, as a full member, significantly strengthening its presence in the EMEA region. This move aligns with Cargo iQ’s goal to increase its member numbers and enhance air cargo quality standards across the supply chain.
The two partners are now developing SAL’s membership roadmap. SAL has already implemented the Freight Into Warehouse (FIW) and Freight Out of Warehouse (FOW) milestones, taking the first step to improving transparency in warehouse operations and having tangible data when discussing service level agreement (SLA) performance with airlines. Next up in further optimizing its operations according to Cargo iQ standards, is Exception Handling and Freight Waybill Performance (FWB). With defined and actioned milestones, SAL can proactively identify and address problem areas, collaborate on improvement initiatives and ultimately boost overall service efficiency.
Sal’s success is driven by its cloud-based enterprise system and integrated cargo community platform, which enable seamless multimodal and cross-border trade through a unified digital window. This platform provides real-time visibility and coordination across the supply chain, benefiting all stakeholders involved,” the release states.
Marie Seco-Köppen, Executive Director, Cargo iQ, explained: “As handlers of 95% of Saudi Arabia’s inbound and outbound cargo, and drivers of quality and efficiency, SAL is an important addition to the Cargo iQ membership. Its ambitious plans to achieve better coordination, visibility, resource optimization, and rapid information exchange, will also enable industry stakeholders working with it to improve process quality.” Mohammed Shahahmad, IT Director Business Application, added: “Transparency and innovation are at the core of our logistics transformation. By focusing on process improvements and leveraging digital tools, we are creating more reliable, efficient, and customer centric solutions.”
