05SEP25 saw Icelandair Cargo launch its first Iceland-Türkiye routing and it has partnered with ECS Group subsidiary, Globe Air Cargo (GAC) Türkiye to ensure a professional local presence. The airline will serve Istanbul (IST) four times a week out of Keflavik (KEF), deploying a Boeing 737 MAX on the route. “These flights will provide seamless connections to the U.S. and Europe, targeting high-demand sectors such as textiles, automotive parts, and machinery,” the release explains. Globe Air Cargo Türkiye brings the local knowledge and the larger global network that is ECS Group, setting the foundation for growth on what the release considers “a new era of air freight connectivity between Turkey, Iceland, and key transatlantic markets.” It opens up new opportunities for Turkish exporters and importers.
