CargoAi’s AI Agents are diligent email managers

At TIACA’s Air Cargo Forum in Miami, recently, CargoAi revealed that its single AI agent, in production since OCT24, now handles about 70% of airline customer email inquiries. The platform, built over seven years, serves three areas: AirAgent manages airline and GSA mailboxes, Auto Quote drafts forwarder quotes from live rates (from around 200 airlines), and Aike answers rate, tracking and booking questions via CargoMART, email and WhatsApp. Petot illustrated the production system’s key figures to date: its AI read 446,000 shipment requests in 1.6 seconds each, translating into a time saving of roughly 37,000 hours. AirAgent handled 105,000 airline emails this year, saving around 6,100 hours. Forwarders built 400,000 quotes this year, equating to roughly 87,000 hours saved. The network includes 6,935 forwarders, 209 airlines responding to rate requests, and shipments being tracked across 260 airlines.

Through APIs and an MCP Connector, customers like STRACKER and Flexport build their own agents on CargoAi’s data. CargoAi says its agents free up to 60% of sales-desk quote intake time, 70% of mailbox time and 80% of pricing-desk quoting time.

Matt Petot, Founder & CEO, explained: “The real value of AI in air cargo is not simply in answering questions faster. It is in removing people’s workload. People should work on the shipment, not on the inbox. We have spent years building the connectivity, data and intelligence required to make that possible. Today, our customers can use our AI capabilities directly, build their own agents and automate real cargo workflows without having to start from scratch.”

Carole Longe, Product Manager at STRACKER, said: “With CargoAi’s MCP Connector, our AI agents turn airline data into ready-to-send quotations within minutes, instead of hours. This allows our team to focus on what matters most: managing complex shipments and serving our customers.”

Alexis Boutet, VP Global Head of Airfreight at Flexport, stated: “Flexport has been on a journey to automate supply chain tasks since its creation in 2013, and Cargoai has been a key partner in this journey. Our platforms are connected via API, so CargoAi rates, schedules and insights feed directly into our system. We also use CargoAI MCP connector to merge their intelligence and data into our workflows. This in turn allows us to automatically consolidate freight and process bookings using AI agents to find the lowest-cost, most reliable options.”
