CargoAi announced on 06OCT26 that CMA CGM AIR CARGO’s allotments can now be booked on its rate management and e-booking platform, CargoMART. This means that both the airline and its freight forwarding customers can now handle their recurring capacity agreements, be they allotments, block space agreements (BSAs) or pre-bookings, online. A convenient, structured, flight-by-flight digital workflow does away with the old-school manual, email-based processes that are usually time-intensive and more error-prone.

For forwarders, the airline’s move is a welcome one, since this gives them even greater reach when working with several carriers. Forwarders can submit a single allotment file, uploaded from their transport management system, and this then populates the systems of all participating airlines at the same time. Otherwise, each airline would have to be contacted separately – often with differing procedures. Similarly, advanced tracking is also included. Hence, the time-savings and process efficiencies are enormous. And there are further benefits for the airline and its forwarders: Via the CargoMART Strategic Hub, both parties can access allotment reports showing allocation utilization, performance quality measured by FAP, and price competitiveness. Since both sides access the same data, discussions can be constructive and fact-based, and allocations and pre-bookings can be managed more effectively.

Key benefits for CMA CGM AIR CARGO and its forwarder partners include:

  • Automated flight-by-flight confirmation of recurring bookings, cutting manual back-and-forth
  • Guaranteed, structured capacity access across all recurring agreement types (BSA, allotments, pre-bookings, etc.)
  • One standardized workflow across airlines
  • A lower monthly workload, since repetitive booking and follow-up tasks disappear
  • Real-time visibility on both sides, with automated status updates reducing manual chase-ups

Matt Petot, Founder & CEO, commented: “Allotment and recurring booking automation are some of the clearest examples of how digitization removes friction from air cargo without changing the commercial agreements airlines and forwarders already have in place. With CMA CGM AIR CARGO now live, we are giving their forwarder partners a faster and more transparent way to manage guaranteed capacity, while reducing repetitive operational workload for both sides month after month, but more importantly a full reporting capabilities so they can transparently manage their allocation with airlines”.
